CURRICULUM VITAE

ARTISTIC CURRICULUM VITAE

To you,
the one reading this,
make yourself comfortable. Feel at home.

My name is Ian, and I am a jurist, pianist, and educator. I work in Rome. And I live a multifaceted life.

In the legal field, I am competent in legal and regulatory matters related to environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and corporate governance. My area of expertise, in which I have accumulated significant knowledge, is space law. We find ourselves in a dynamic era of space exploration marked by the rapid emergence of new uses of extraterrestrial space, necessitating laws and policies to enable them. I conduct research on international and national laws related to space, aiming to deepen my understanding of evolving objectives and action plans of actors within the space community. I dedicate myself to analysing current issues in international space law and policy, as well as examining emerging challenges arising from new private actors and space initiatives.

For over a decade, I've worked as an English teacher both privately and online, collaborating with various companies throughout Italy. I assist professionals from diverse fields and young students from middle schools, high schools, and universities. My students successfully pass exams from the Cambridge University suite, including KET, PET, FCE, CAE, and TOEFL, and venture abroad without ever feeling lost or disoriented. The professionals I guide become more adept at negotiations, autonomously interacting with the outside world, and acquiring information without relying on intermediaries.

My legal experience also covers public law and constitutional law. I have participated in discussions in Parliament regarding the various reform projects of the Italian citizenship law that have taken place over the last 15 years, representing the association Rete G2 Seconde Generazioni. Additionally, I have taken part in various meetings with Italian Studies departments in the United States and Canada, focusing on administrative, inclusive, and digital issues within Italian civil society.

As for music, I began my piano studies at the age of eight under the guidance of pianist and conductor Simone Genuini, refining my skills under Stefano Nerozzi. Music takes me across Italy and Europe, carrying not only my luggage but primarily my passion for music. For over ten years, I've been organizing concerts alongside fellow musician friends, with the piano serving as an extension of my arm. I enjoy presenting beautiful musical pieces that can offer my listeners pleasure, curiosity, reflection, and even entertainment and joy. For six years, I've shared the stage with Chiara Fantino in a piano duo formation, where she not only supports me personally but also assists in captivating the audience, providing unique emotions to many. In February 2024, I contributed to the composition of the soundtrack for the documentary film We Were Here - The Untold Stories of Black Africans in Renaissance Europe, by the Italian-Ghanaian producer and director Fred Kudjo Kuwornu. The documentary film, produced by Do The Right Films, had its world premiere on April 20, 2024, at the 60th International Art Exhibition of 'La Biennale di Venezia.'

My diverse background may seem unusual, if not eccentric, but I always find motivation in serving the people who rely on me, especially those I love. My promise is to always offer respect, an insatiable appetite for knowledge, a willingness to solve problems, and a generous dose of music.

See you very soon,
Ian
